We build the whole system with one team: a zoned design, sprinklers for the lawn, drip irrigation for beds, shrubs and trees, a controller and a pump for the well — and then maintenance every year.

Irrigation in Sofia — what to know
The lawn needs the most water in July and August, when temperatures go above 35 °C. And before winter the system has to be drained: snow cover lasts for about 58 days a year on average, and at –15 °C and below the water in the pipes and valves freezes.
Mains water in Sofia costs about €2.11 per m³ including VAT, sewerage and treatment (Sofiyska Voda, at prices approved by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (KEVR), effective 1 January 2026). According to the 2022–2027 River Basin Management Plan, the city sits above a shallow groundwater body in the Sofia Valley, whose chemical status is rated poor because of manganese and iron. Iron and manganese clog drip emitters, so well water used for drip irrigation goes through a filter.
At the foot of Vitosha, yards are often on a slope. There we divide the system into more zones and lay drip irrigation along the slope — the water soaks in instead of running down to the bottom of the yard.

What water to use for your garden in Sofia
The water source determines the pump, the number of zones and how much each watering will cost you.
Mains water
Sofiyska Voda: about €2.11 per m³ including VAT, sewerage and treatment. Example: 1 m³ a day through July and August comes to 62 m³ — about €131.
A well in your yard
Up to 10 m³ a day for watering your own property in a built-up area is free and needs no permit. You notify the Danube Region Basin Directorate before the well is built and register it within 3 months afterwards — free of charge.
Rainwater tank
It collects water from the roof and feeds it to the system with a pump. It lowers your water bill and helps where the well gives little water.
Pressure and flow rate
They determine how many sprinklers can run at the same time. Based on them, we divide the system into zones and choose the pump — we check both during the on-site visit.

What warranty do you give?
We work with materials of Italian and American origin. Valves: 10-year warranty; some materials: 5 years; the rest: a standard 2 years. We set out the scope, deadlines and price in a written contract.
Do I need a permit for a well for watering?
No, as long as the well is on your own property in a built-up area and the water is for your own needs — including watering the property. Up to 10 m³ a day is free. Before building it, you notify the Danube Region Basin Directorate, and within 3 months afterwards you apply to register it — also free of charge. The well doesn’t need a building permit, but it must be at least 3 m from the property boundary.
How much water does an automatic system save?
Up to 60% compared with watering by hand: each zone gets as much water as it needs, and watering happens early in the morning, when the water doesn’t evaporate.
